Our contribution to ITV Teletext... first appeared on Weds 19.09.01
Three games, three wins and twelve goals - not a bad week by anyone's standards. It saw Bobby's ton-up Toon game and we thought we'd mark our 50th consecutive teletext contribution by looking at the top five Bobby Dazzlers:
Bobby's first home game was a belter. We had just one point from seven games before Alan Shearer scored five as United thumped a sorry Sheff Wed, 8-0.
Al and Big Dunc combined to give us a 6-1 cup stocking-filler against Spurs.
That was en route to our third successive Wembley appearance, where a
2-1 semi-final defeat to Chelsea at least salvaged some badly-dented pride.
Last season had few high points but the unexpected 3-1 win at Elland Road was a vital conquest when points were scarce.
But Bobby's top two must surely be the victories over the Champions. Big
Dunc's stunner and Al's double in the 3-0, then Saturday's 4-3 thriller which for some, even eclipsed KK's Howay-5-0.
