Newcastle's Longest Running Fanzine:
Wander towards St.James' Park on any match day, and you are certain to be accosted by a fanzine seller complete with a pile of something resembling the illustrations above. Copies are also available in the vicinity of away grounds, so get your £2.50 out for the lads (and lasses.) "The Mag" has entertained, informed and been rolled up in the back pockets of loyal toon fans since the dark days of the late 1980's. Contributors have come and gone, but the standard of player interviews, biased letters and provocative articles remains. Of course, you don't actually need to pace the mean streets of Newcastle to purloin a copy of the Mag; if you have access to a letterbox you can take out a subscription and look forward to a regular plain envelope arriving to quizzical looks from neighbours and family. Still not convinced ? Well, as a reward for having read this far, a free sample copy of a recent edition of the Mag can be yours in return for either a simple phone call or email. |
