It’s two in the afternoon and here’s the latest on my condition. The operation on Friday morning went very well. I was under general anaesthetic and it lasted around half an hour. I’m still a bit tired but should be my normal self again soon. 

I left hospital on Saturday afternoon and on Thursday I’ll return to see the surgeon for a check-up. Other than that I’ve been told that I’ll be out for a month. It takes time to heal but between now and the end of the week I’ll be able to begin running again. 

It’s infuriating to have missed the Arsenal game and to sit-out the decisive Champions League game against Feyenoord but I’ve got no choice, I’ve got to accept it.
