Laurent Robert Interview 52

Taken from his own official (French Language) website 28.03.02

Newcastle will play Everton at St James' Park on Friday. You're obligated to win this game.

It's clear that we have no choice. Firstly, it's been a while since we last won a game. Secondly we 're playing at home, and therefore are obliged to push for a win. Everton are in need of points, and will surely look for a draw. It's up to us to impose ourselves and go for the three points to get our season back on track.

Have you been working on anything special in preparation for the game?

At the moment, we're working hard on game tactics. We've had a few out with injuries lately, and some of them are now back in training, which makes thing easier.

Which players came back to training this morning?

We had Dabizas and O'Brien. Dyer will certainly win his place back, and maybe Bellamy will be back too, we'll see tomorrow.

You kick off at 3pm French time, it's an unusual kick off time.

Yes, but last week, we played at noon. That's the way it is, so we'll have to live with it.

At that time of the afternoon, and on a Friday, will there be many people in the stadium?

As always, they will be there, there actually on holiday at the moment, so there will be at least 50000 spectators.

You'll play one of your games in hand against Villa on Tuesday, what with the games being so close do you think it will be a difficult game?

Of course. We'll have a day off on Saturday to rest. We have to take the points out of these two games. With respect to the other big clubs, theres a chance that we won't play in the champions league. Now the ball is in our court and we must push and finish the season on a high.

What did you think of the "Les Bleus" game last night (against Scotland)

It was a nice game, with sensational goals. The first half was perfect, and at the end the score line was merited. Bye.
