Video Review

From the wide selection available (see nearly 100 videos past and present) we've chosen:

"Season Review 1994-95"

which you'll find in the "Season Reviews" category.

If you want a copy, follow this link, where you can order it courtesy of the excellent Blackstar website.

NUFC.com's view: Any video that chronicles a season in which we put 95 goals in the opposition net must be worth a few bob of your hard earned,  notwithstanding the usual end-of-season shortcomings. If you ignore the twittering Roger Tames "wise after the event" commentary, frequently dubbed crowd roars and inevitable groovy guitar soundtrack, this is an accurate chronicle of a season that promised glory but ended without even a UEFA spot.

Pre-season isn't covered, which means no footage of the Ibrox tournament when Manchester United were beaten in a penalty shootout, and the away leg of the Bilbao UEFA game is similarly missing (due to the greed of the Spanish TV network.) However, a multitude of memorable moments from  Lee, Watson, Fox, Cole et al are included , and six bonafide classic goals from the Beardsley portfolio bring a smile to all but the most mackemish of viewers.

Verdict: Buy it and weep: pre- Shearer, Ferdinand & Tino, for a few weeks in Autumn 1994 we were awesome. If Cole hadn't been laid off with shin splints, history could been very different.

Highlight(s):
3rd place @ 12 mins 16 secs, Andy Cole rocket, Leazes End v's Chelsea.
2nd place @ 71 mins 23 secs, the only goal of Barry Venison's Toon career
the winner @ 31 mins 54 secs, Peter Beardsley, last minute goal, Palace (a) - I've still got the scars on my leg from falling off my seat.
