Andy Cole got his hat trick v Liverpool in Nov 1993, for example), but

1984-85 season average gate at Ayresome 5,135. No, really. 

- Middlesbrough have NEVER finished as the best supported north-east club. In 1985 their average attendance was only 700 more than Darlington's!
