It's a 2pm kick-off and all 4,500 away section tickets have been sold.

Team: to follow

Injury deprives United of Callum Wilson, Lewis Miley, Matt Targett, Jamaal Lascelles and Sven Botman, while Lloyd Kelly, Joe Willock and Tino Livramento weren't fit enough play in Saturday's behind closed doors kickabout against SpVgg Unterhaching.

Miguel Almiron, Martin Dubravka, Anthony Gordon, Bruno Guimaraes, Fabian Schar and Kieran Trippier
were granted extra time off following post-season international duty
.

Sandro Tonali
remains ineligible to play pending the end of his ban.

HCFC: Defender Cody Drameh is in line to make his debut after signing from Leeds in midweek.

Ahead of facing Newcastle, Hull made the short trip to Doncaster Rovers on Tuesday - a young XI losing 0-4.

Sunday saw Norway U19s round off their group stage fixtures at the European Championship finals with a 2-0 win over tournament hosts Northern Ireland.

Newcastle midfielder Travis Hernes made his third start of the week for Norway, playing 86 minutes before being substituted.

The Norwegians missed out on a semi-final place after finishing third in their group, but have qualified for a playoff to determine who takes the fifth and final European place at next year's U20 World Cup in Chile.

That takes place on Wednesday at Seaview in Belfast. The opposition will be Turkey.

The second match of United's Swedish tour saw them in the town of Orebro (to the West of Stockholm) at the Eyravellen Stadium - one of the venues for the 1958 World Cup.

1995 Douglas Hall, Freddie Shepherd and an unnamed Tyneside restaurant owner flew to Turin with the aim of returning with unsettled Juventus star Roberto Baggio.

Amid farcical scenes, they were shunned by the club and player, who ultimately signed for AC Milan.

1997 A Magpies Reserve XI travelled to Croft Park, Blyth, winning 1-0 thanks to a Stuart Elliott penalty in front of 2,200 fans.

2001 Newcastle made their debut at Galabank, home of future Scottish League side Annan Athletic.

A reserve XI won 3-1 thanks to a brace from Annan old boy Colin McMenamin. Jamie McClen bagged the other.

United qualified for the semi-finals of the Intertoto Cup, although the manner of their win (three weeks ahead of the Premier League opening day) was hardly inspiring.

Alan's second half headed brace brought his personal Toon tally to 194 and gave a healthy St. James' Park crowd something to belatedly cheer.

2005 Meanwhile a Magpies XI defeated Hebburn Town 5-1 in a friendly fixture at Victoria Road.

Goals were a brace from Marc Walton and one each from Daryl Smylie, Scott Marshall plus an OG.

2008 United's Academy U18 side began their pre-season programme by playing out a 2-2 home draw with Hartlepool United. Phil Airey and Campbell Bell netted for the Magpies.

2009 A Gateshead College XI held Newcastle U18s to a 2-2 draw in pre-season, Phil Airey scoring twice.

2011 The second game of United's Dutch reserve tour of Holland saw them recover from a two goal deficit to claim victory over an FC Utrecht XI on a training pitch.

Joey Barton, Michael Richardson and Ryan Donaldson were all on target.

The second leg of Newcastle's USA jaunt saw them make the 1,000+ mile journey from Kansas to Florida - and be embroiled in a pitch battle over the playing surface at Orlando's Citrus Bowl stadium.

Agreeing to the fixture on condition that it was played on grass, United turned up for training to find that rolls of turf had been unfurled over the artificial surface and just as easily became dangerously loose.

Amid some rancour from the United squad, the game eventually went ahead on the astro turf, which was sanded to try and lessen its excesses.

With Danny Simpson heading back to England to be at the birth of his child, Ryan Taylor played at right back and quickly departed with a groin strain. It got no better.

As we commented, "for those US-based Newcastle followers present, this game did provide them with an authentic Magpies match day experience - it's just a shame that the match day in question was our FA Cup defeat at Stevenage...."

United's second game against obscure Portuguese opposition ended disappointingly, despite an improved display and outcome from their 1-3 loss at Rio Ave.

Shola Ameobi got his second goal of the tour but Fabricio Coloccini's first half tangle with a home player saw both red- carded, as things got "a bit tasty" in the words of manager Alan Pardew.
