Littlejohn claiming Al fouled his man every time he challenged for a ball.

Not far behind were the traditionally Geordie-hating Evening Standard, rising to new levels of stupidity by claiming that a tricky 2002 World Cup draw was due to Al's foul play in France '98.

However, biggest recipient of egg-on-face was the official Charlton website, where Mick Collins asserted that the red card saw "justice finally done." We won't dignify them by repeating his other juvenile jibes, but urge you to email [email protected] for Mick's thoughts post-red card withdrawal....
