Having made a low-key
start to his Magpies career in the FA Youth Cup at Manchester City, new
boy Haris Vučkić took just
three minutes of his reserve team debut on Monday evening to register a
first goal for the club.
The Slovenian teenager had appeared as a second half substitute against
Blackburn at Ewood Park and crashed home a shot from distance to give
United the points.
And the young 'keeper who conceded the goal also had a Toon connection,
Andreas Arestidou having played two games for our U18 side earlier this
season during an emergency loan spell.
United's reserve side were once again coached by Colin Calderwood, who
took charge of our second string for the first time last week.
