Where do old toon players end up after English clubs no longer require them? Well, often soldiering on somewhere in the Scottish leagues.

While Thompson and Guppy claim medals at Celtic, other familiar faces are to be found at less fashionable clubs.

Take Clydebank. Michael O'Neill and Darren Jackson up front, Rab McKinnon
in defence, all of whom previously played abroad: O'Neill in the USA,
Rab in Holland and Jackson in China.

Elsewhere, the likes of Lee Makel (Livingston) & madman Ketsbaia (Dundee) play on, while the two John's: Connolly (Queen of the South) and Brownlie Arbroath) continue to manage.

One old boy retreating back over the border however is David Kelly, now an ex-Motherwell player after falling out with Fir Park manager Eric Black.

It seems as if Ned just couldn't get on with 'Well no.2 Terry Butcher and his gormless attitude. Funny that......
