The walk away from Villa Park along Aston Lane is usually a good barometer of how we've done against the Villans.

This season it was a slow trudge through the rain and the puddles as it
felt like we'd parked a million miles away.

A point at Villa isn't usually anything to complain about - Man United, Chelsea and Spurs also drew 1-1 there this season - but I suppose our expectation levels have been raised higher now.

Sixty points should be enough to get us into Europe, whether that be Champions League, UEFA or Intertoto. The latter would be a disaster now - remarkable given where we were a year ago.

We had just got two miserable points out of 21, playing meagre opposition
and had slipped from 7th to 14th in the Premiership.

Funnily enough, there weren't too many calling for a Bobby knighthood at that time. Oh, the fickle hand of football.
