Following a 1-1 draw at Gallowgate in a game between two Newcastle XIs on Saturday, Tuesday morning saw United in friendly action at Darsley Park.

Second half goals from Yoshinori Muto, Miguel Almiron and Joelinton gave Steve Bruce's side victory over Championship side Boro.

The Teessiders led 2-0 at the interval thanks to goals from George Saville and Britt Assombalonga, but the black and whites recovered to level before Joelinton netted the winner in the closing seconds.
