Laurent Robert Interview 65

Taken from his own official (French Language) website 17.06.02

This last weekend you were in St Tropez for a beach soccer tournament. How did that go ?

It was great. It was the first time I've ever played beach soccer and I had a fantastic time. I also met up with a lot of old Paris St.Germain players like Marco Simone, Ali Benarbia and David Ginola. There were also some other famous French sports personalities. It was great to be able to meet and chat with everybody.

How did the tournament go ?

We were knocked out in the semi-final. It wasn't easy as it was very hot. As you can imagine its a very different feeling compared to normal football. Keeping your balance whilst running and dribbling is a nightmare and when shooting you have to remember to lift the ball.

Is your left foot as dangerous on sand as it is on grass ?

Oh yes, just fine [laughs]. Actually I scored three goals in the semi-final. Although that wasn't enough to win, I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

What's the plan for this week ?

I'm currently driving to Marseille, there I plan to pay a quick visit to the  family. Afterwards I'm off to Portugal for a few days. I'll be back in touch  next week. Ciao.
